Built as a garden for the Ashimori clan lord, the Kinshui-en is one of the most beautiful daimyo gardens in Okayama Prefecture. It features the "pond strolling style" where you walk around a pond to enjoy the scenery, and the "borrowed scenery" technique integrating the small hill in the background as part of the garden is superb. In particular, the Sukiya-style "Ginpukaku" building standing in the pond presents an elegant figure as if floating on the water, and in the autumn foliage season, it becomes a superb view like a single painting combined with the surrounding trees. It is a luxurious place where you can completely forget the hustle and bustle of the city and immerse yourself in traditional Japanese landscaping beauty and silence.
