Tsurumaru Castle Go-ro-mon Gate, standing tall at the entrance of the ruins of Kagoshima Castle (Tsurumaru Castle) in the center of Kagoshima City, is "one of Japan's largest and most prestigious beautiful castle gates," which was completely restored in wood using traditional craftsmanship in 2020, 119 years after it was destroyed by fire in 1901.
