Tonosho Town, one of the gateways to Shodoshima, is a vibrant port town known for having the "Dobuchi Strait," certified by Guinness World Records as the world's narrowest strait. There are old streets called "The Labyrinth Town," and strolling through the unique town layout created to prevent pirate invasions is an experience that tickles the adventurous spirit. It is also the hub for "Angel Road," a sandbar appearing only at low tide, and is packed with tourist charms. Art pieces are displayed around the port, and modern convenience coexists comfortably with the island's unique leisurely time. You can also touch the island's rich food culture, such as specialty soy sauce, olives, and hand-stretched somen, making it an ideal base for the beginning and end of your journey.
