Togatazaki, located at the northwestern tip of Shodoshima, is a spectacular cape overlooking the calm Seto Inland Sea. It was once the site of an elementary school, and the view from the seaside schoolyard was used as a filming location for movies and dramas as "the school in the most beautiful scenery in Japan." Especially famous is the sight of "Koinobori" (carp streamers) hoisted as if swimming over the sea during the Boy's Day festival season. The colorful carp streamers swimming powerfully against the background of the blue sky and sea fascinate many people as a seasonal tradition of early summer in Japan. The surrounding area is very quiet, allowing you to soak in the nostalgic and warm original landscape of Japan while listening to the sound of crashing waves. It is a healing photo spot known to those in the know.
