A walking path about 2 kilometers long stretching from near Ginkaku-ji to Nanzen-ji along the Lake Biwa Canal. It got its name because the philosopher Kitaro Nishida used to stroll here while lost in thought. In spring, a "cherry blossom tunnel" is formed, and in autumn, foliage colors the water's surface. Along the path are stylish cafes, small workshops, and hidden temples, perfect for walking at your own pace without rushing. Listening to the sounds of nature and feeling the quiet flow of time in Kyoto, this experience is loved by those who want to relax during their journey and savor the "thoughtful" time behind Japanese spiritual culture.
