Mt. Miyanoura, standing steeply in the central part of Yakushima, is the "highest peak in the Kyushu region" boasting an altitude of 1,936 meters, and is a sacred famous peak located in the core of the World Natural Heritage site, Yakushima, which full-scale climbers from all over the world admire. The hiking trekking on this mountain, often called the Alps on the ocean, is the biggest charm because the dynamic vertical distribution ecosystem changes from steep subtropical forests to huge granite megaliths without any obstructions and beautiful alpine plant grasslands near the summit. The 360-degree panoramic view from the summit overlooks the vast sea of clouds and the deep blue Pacific Ocean, and is a formative beauty that takes your breath away. It is a supreme sacred place where you can experience the wild vitality of the earth and overwhelming dynamism.
