Lake Ikeda, located in Ibusuki City, is the "largest vast caldera lake in Kyushu," created by the collapse of an active volcano, boasting a circumference of about 15 kilometers and a maximum water depth of about 233 meters. On the deep blue lake surface, transparent like crystal glass, the silhouette of the beautiful Satsuma Fuji "Mt. Kaimon" rising in the back is reflected beautifully like a mirror, and its overwhelming panoramic view is a formative beauty that takes your breath away. It attracts travelers from all over the world as a very photogenic superb view. Every winter, the vast "rapeseed flower fields," the earliest in Japan, shine in golden color on the lakeside, and you can enjoy cycling with the refreshing spring breeze. It is a paradise overflowing with historical romance, such as the mysterious great monster "Issie Legend" and the ecosystem of giant eels 2 meters long.
