Yufugawa Gorge, spanning Yufu City and Beppu City, is an exceptionally mysterious, beautiful, and magnificent canyon created over eternal time by pure water streams harshly carving rocky walls, often called the "Tyrol of the East." Towering, sturdy rocky walls about 15 to 60 meters high stretch for about 12 kilometers, where lush green moss beautifully covers the rocks, and countless thin water threads flow down like a shower, granting words-defying deep emotion and surprise to global travelers. Walking down the stairs to the canyon floor and wrapping yourself in the rich negative ions and stream murmurs brings supreme stress release. Completely cut off from urban noise in this brilliant sanctuary, feel Earth's majestic life force with all five senses.
