Enshrined at the summit of Mount Ondake (about 156 meters above sea level) in Iki City, "Ondake Shrine" is a powerful, elemental sacred spot where general public entry was prohibited until the Meiji period. Behind the worship hall where the god descended sits a mysterious giant boulder, the "Goshintai-iwa," possessing a magnetic field where compass needles fail to work normally, allowing you to directly feel Earth's mystical energies. Within the precinct, over 2,000 unique "stone monkey" (Saru) statues dedicated by people whose wishes were fulfilled line up densely, and their overwhelming, dreamlike sight deeply fascinates international visitors. It is an extraordinary sanctuary to completely reset your soul within profound forest silence.
