Standing right before Kochi Castle, the "Kochi Castle Museum of History" is a cutting-edge history museum housing and exhibiting about 67,000 pieces of high-class ancient documents and fine arts and crafts including National Treasures and Important Cultural Properties handed down to the prestigious Yamauchi family, lords of the Tosa domain. Within the beautifully refined modern interior, authentic samurai swords, armor, gorgeous Noh costumes, and genuine letters handwritten by Sakamoto Ryoma are displayed in an easy-to-understand manner, allowing international tourists to deeply learn the spirituality of Japanese samurai culture. The biggest highlight is the location from the 3rd floor observation lobby; through the full glass-walled windows, you can look out at the towering spectacular main keep of "Kochi Castle" from the ultimate angle, serving as a special spot to luxuriously satisfy your intellectual curiosity while gazing at historical landscapes.
