Osaka Pass Observatory, located on the border between Kagawa and Tokushima Prefectures, is a spectacular point at an altitude of about 270 meters offering views of the Seto Inland Sea, Sanuki Plain, and as far as Shodoshima and Awaji Island. It is a historic pass said to have been crossed by Yoshitsune's army during the Genpei War, and now features an open field of vision so wide it's known as a paraglider takeoff base. Especially on days with clear air, the panorama woven by the blue sea and islands stretches endlessly, and its beauty overwhelms visitors. Though the journey involves some narrow mountain roads, the silence and magnificent scenery waiting at the end will surely be the best hidden reward for travelers wanting to refresh away from city hustle.
