A historic Zen temple of the Obaku school located in Hagi City, serving as the family temple for the Mori lords of the Hagi Domain. Within the precincts characterized by continental-style architecture like the "Sanmon" gate and "Main Hall," there is a cemetery where over 500 stone lanterns are lined up, creating an overwhelmingly solemn and fantastical atmosphere. The sight of these stone lanterns standing quietly in the forest tells of the former glory of the Hagi Domain and deep faith. Especially during the Obon period, a "lantern lighting" event is held, transforming the area into a world of light. Touching the unique Zen aesthetics and the silence where history breathes will add deep colors of contemplation to your journey.
