The "Ichinosaka River" flowing through the center of Yamaguchi City is a walking path where the Ouchi clan once built the city to resemble Kyoto's Kamo River, and atmospheric landscapes still remain today. In spring, about 200 cherry trees bloom on both banks, allowing you to walk under a tunnel of cherry blossoms extending their branches to the water surface. Illumination is held at night, and the fantastical sight of night cherry blossoms reflected on the river surface fascinates visitors. Additionally, in early summer, "Genji-botaru" fireflies, designated as a National Natural Monument, dance, and you can enjoy the ephemeral competition of glowing lights in the darkness. It is a healing view spot loved by citizens where Yamaguchi's rich history and seasonal natural beauty coexist.
