Set against the backdrop of the Sea of Japan, the sight of 123 red torii gates stretching along the cliffs is a breathtaking view that was selected by CNN as one of "Japan's 31 Most Beautiful Places." Passing through the tunnel of torii gates, you can see the "Ryugu no Shiofuki" (Dragon Palace Geyser) where waves hit the rock wall and spray water high into the air, making you feel the power of nature. Also, on the torii gate at the highest point, an offertory box is placed about 5 meters above the ground, and it is said that if you can throw your coin into it, your wish will come true. The vivid contrast between the blue sea and sky and the red torii gates is stunning, making it one of the most Instagrammable spots in Yamaguchi Prefecture.
