Taishakukyo Gorge, spanning Shobara City and Jinseki Kogen Town, is one of Japan's leading scenic spots extending about 18 kilometers and is a designated National Place of Scenic Beauty. The major highlight is "On-bashi," a massive natural bridge formed by river erosion, ranked as one of the world's three major natural bridges for its dynamic beauty. Visitors can also explore mysterious limestone caves and the beautiful "Shinryu Lake" via sightseeing boats, experiencing the mysteries of nature. It shows completely different faces each season, with particularly vibrant autumn foliage that paints the mountains brilliantly. It is an area where you can deeply appreciate grand natural beauty and the geological wonders created over eternal time while hiking or cycling.
