Counted as one of Japan's three most beautiful gardens, this is a treasure garden that earned three stars in the Michelin Green Guide Japan. Completed in 1700, this garden features a "strolling style" where different scenery can be enjoyed with every step, with wide lawns, ponds, artificial hills, and tea houses skillfully arranged. The view utilizing the adjacent Okayama Castle as borrowed scenery is spectacular. Traditional Japanese aesthetics such as seasonal flowers and moon-viewing events still live on here; despite being in the center of Okayama City, it is a famous spot filled with silence and elegance that must not be missed in Japanese sightseeing.
