Built in 1597, Okayama Castle is nicknamed "Ujo" (Crow Castle) due to its black-painted exterior walls. Its jet-black appearance exudes a heavy and valiant beauty, contrasting with the nearby white Himeji Castle. Inside, in addition to historical exhibits, there are corners to experience lord and princess costumes, and a workshop where you can experience "Bizen Pottery" clay throwing. From the top floor, you can overlook the adjacent Korakuen and Okayama city area, enjoying a superb view where samurai culture history and the modern cityscape fuse.
