Unique rocks found along the coastline of Chibu Village, formed by volcanic rock being eroded over many years. They are called so because they resemble the scale patterns of "Armor" (Yoroi) and the shape of a "Helmet" (Kabuto) worn by Japanese samurai. One cannot help but feel the mysteries of the Earth seeing such regular and brave forms created solely by natural forces. Standing against the backdrop of the rough Sea of Japan, they are excellent subjects for photographers. The story of Oki's harsh environment creating shapes reminiscent of Japanese historical items is also popular with international tourists.
