A vast historical park centered on the Akashi Castle ruins, spreading right in front of Akashi Station. The two existing three-story turrets (Important Cultural Properties) of Akashi Castle, built in 1619, and the magnificent stone walls are overwhelmingly powerful. Having two turrets existing side-by-side is very rare even in Japan, making it a spot of high historical value. The seasonal nature in the park is beautiful, and it is known as one of Hyogo Prefecture's leading cherry blossom spots with about 1,000 trees blooming especially in spring. With large lawn areas and ponds, it is a healing spot with outstanding access where you can enjoy a leisurely stroll while feeling the breath of history amidst the bustle of citizens.
