Located further into the Amanohashidate area, "Benten-yama Observatory" is a hidden gem for superb views overlooking the beautiful coastline of the Tango Peninsula. From here, you can overlook complex inlets, the clear blue Sea of Japan, and in the distance, the streetscape of Ine's Funaya boat houses. With few tourists and only the sound of waves and wind echoing in the quiet environment, the greatest charm is being able to have nature's formative beauty all to yourself. At dusk, the sea is stained madder red, creating a very romantic scene. It is a place that discerning travelers should visit during a drive to deeply feel the vastness and silence of Kyoto's sea.
