    Once bustling as the former Kawagoe Ginza Shopping District, it became the prefecture's first arcade in 1961. After the arcade was removed due to aging, the area worked to reshape its landscape based on "Taisho Roman Town-building Standards." The resulting unique cityscape features a mix of warehouse-style buildings, traditional townhouses, early Showa-era Western architecture, and three-story wooden structures from the Taisho era.
