Hyakudai Observatory, located on a magnificent raised coral reef plateau about 211 meters above sea level spreading in the central part of Kikai Town (Kikai Island) in the Amami Islands, is the highest scenic spot on the island where you can overlook the panorama of vast sugarcane fields and the grand ocean view of the vast Pacific Ocean and East China Sea without any obstructions at once. Standing in the observation area of this vast Hyakudai Park, which is also designated as a national scenic spot, you can realistically feel the roundness of the earth without any obstructions. The beautiful emerald green sea shining in the gradation woven by coral reefs is overwhelmingly photogenic. It is a sacred place where you can be deeply refreshed by bathing in the refreshing highland breeze with your whole body.
