Tairajima, a small volcanic island with a circumference of about 7 kilometers floating quietly in the central part of the Tokara Islands, is a very simple and beautiful secret isolated island where the historical romance of the Heike samurai (fugitives) who secretly landed to escape the battle during the turbulent period of the Warring States period and built their own warm life remains deeply. On the island, mysterious sea caves called "Ana no Kannon," where it is said that samurai hid themselves, and old villages where traditional giant banyan trees stand, remain, and a somewhat nostalgic feeling drifts. The surrounding sea boasts emerald green clear enough to take your breath away, and you can fully enjoy colorful coral reefs with snorkeling. It is a supreme hideaway where you can be perfectly away from the noise of the city and be refreshed wrapped in deep silence.
