Mt. Yuwan, rising high on Amami Oshima (Uken-son/Yamato-son), is the highest mountain on the island boasting an altitude of 694 meters, and is a sacred mountain spot where untouched, dynamic subtropical plants remain, which became the core region of the World Natural Heritage in 2021. The entire area around the summit is often shrouded in mysterious mist, and deep evergreen primeval forests where the huge fern plant called "Living Fossil," "Cyathea lepifera," and the valuable endemic ecosystem unique to Amami breathe, spread out. From the beautifully maintained wooden promenades and observation decks, you can safely enjoy overflowing negative ions and deep green panoramic views, and it is the ultimate sacred place where you can be deeply healed from the heart by the primitive vitality of the earth and deep silence.
