Situated across a vast plain in Iki City, the "Harunotsuji Ruins" form a Nationally Designated Special Historic Site representing the ancient royal capital of "Ika-koku" described in the ancient Chinese chronicle "Weizhi Wajinden" (Account of the Wa in the Book of Wei) from about 2,000 years ago during the Yayoi period. Today, pit dwellings, elevated granaries, and structures considered Japan's oldest dockyards are beautifully reconstructed amid rich greenery, delivering a distinct thrill as if time-traveling back to an ancient international trading city. Under a vast sky where nothing obstructs your view, spending time reflecting on ancient human lifestyles and romantic history while feeling peaceful breezes completely eliminates busy daily lives, enrichening your intellect and sensibilities.
