The Mietsu Naval Dock Site is an exceptionally valuable historical heritage site recounting the pioneer days of Japan's industrial modernization, registered as a component of the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage "Sites of Japan's Meiji Industrial Revolution." In the late Edo period, the Saga Clan quickly introduced Western scientific technology to establish this site for modern naval training and Western-style ship repairs, showing the amazing foresight and challenging tracks of predecessors. Though the actual structures are currently buried underground for preservation, the facility features rich exhibitions utilizing cutting-edge VR technology to experience its original appearance vividly, deeply filling travelers' intellectual curiosity. It is an intellectual history spot to feel the starting point of modern Japan.
