Kashiwajima Island, located at the southwestern tip of Kochi Prefecture and connected to the Otsuki Peninsula via bridge, is a small island with a perimeter of about 4 kilometers. The top charm of this island is its beautiful emerald green sea boasting an overwhelmingly high transparency, looking as if boats are floating in mid-air. Because it is a warm marine area where the Kuroshio Current fiercely crashes, more than 1,000 species of tropical fish—corresponding to about one-third of fish species inhabiting Japan—and colorful coral reefs live in colonies, drawing divers globally as a premier sacred spot for diving and snorkeling in Japan. Retaining the untouched, natural rustic fishing village landscapes of Japan, white sand beaches, and rich ocean blessings beautifully merged together, it stands as a supreme hideaway paradise stimulating all five senses.
