Hirakiyama Park, expanding across the summit of Mt. Hiraki at 149 meters altitude located in the northwestern part of Hakatajima Island, is a beautiful panoramic view observation park boasting some of the finest scenery along the Shimanami Kaido. From the modern observatory at the summit, you can look out without obstruction at a grand, dramatic panorama featuring three giant magnificent bridges spanning the calm Seto Inland Sea—the "Hakata-Oshima Bridge," the "Oomishima Bridge," and the "Tatara Bridge"—alongside islands dotting the sea. Especially in spring, about 1,000 Yoshino cherry trees within the park bloom all at once, wrapping the entire mountain in a pale pink cherry blossom dome. The contrast of the emerald green sea and white bridges viewed through the spaces between cherry blossoms is breathtakingly beautiful, standing as an immensely popular famous spot among international travelers wishing to quietly appreciate Japan's spring spectacular views.
