Mitsuhatajima, floating in the Uwa Sea of Ainan Town, is an unstaffed odd rock spot boasting a highly unique and dynamic landscape where three small rocky reefs (islands) stand harmoniously in a single line off the coast of a beautiful rias coastline入り江 inlet. The white rock surfaces carved by fierce Pacific waves and tidal winds over long years, the green of pines living robustly atop them, and the contrast of the surrounding deep Uwa Sea blue radiate a superb sense of Japanese aesthetics, just like a natural giant bonsai or a traditional Japanese landscape painting. Dusk is particularly recommended; the silhouettes of the islands are illuminated by the crimson setting sun, with the sea surface shimmering golden, spreading a highly romantic, mystical landscape that brings deep emotion to world travelers visiting with cameras in hand.
