Shishijima, floating off the coast of Mitoyo City, is an island filled with mysterious natural energy, featuring a giant "Great Camphor Tree" said to be over 1,200 years old. It is a small island about 4 kilometers in circumference, but the sight of the Great Camphor spreading its vast branches is overwhelmingly powerful, enveloping visitors in overwhelming healing. Once many people lived here, but now a quiet time flows, and old houses lined on slopes and well-maintained wildflowers create a beautiful landscape. From the observatory, you can overlook the islands of the Seto Inland Sea, and during the flower seasons, the entire island is vividly colored. Cut off from artificial sounds, it is truly a hideaway island where you can converse with Japan's primitive natural power amidst the sound of waves and birdsong.
