Awa City, located in north-central Tokushima, is a city where agriculture blessed by the rich Yoshino River and mysterious natural sculptural beauty coexist. The biggest highlight is the "Awa Earth Pillars," ranked among the world's three great earth pillars. The sight of giant sand pillars carved by rainwater erosion is truly nature's artwork. It also houses Temples 7 to 10 of the Shikoku 88 Temple Pilgrimage, allowing visitors to feel pilgrimage culture firsthand amidst idyllic rural landscapes. Food charms like specialty grapes, strawberries, and famous "Tarai Udon" are also substantial. It's an area for a luxurious local experience satisfying all five senses by enjoying dynamic geological heritage, touring sacred sites, and tasting rich mountain delicacies.
