Okawara Plateau, located at about 900 meters altitude in Sanagochi Village, is a spectacular panoramic spot overlooking Tokushima City, the Kii Channel, and as far as Awaji Island. The vast grassland features giant windmills and a peaceful scene of grazing cattle. It is especially famous for approximately 30,000 "hydrangeas" blooming from late June to early July, dyeing the landscape in light purple. At night, you can enjoy city lights and star-filled skies simultaneously, making it a popular site for stargazing and camping. Forgetting the city heat and being blown by cool plateau breezes, it is a place to enjoy dynamic natural beauty in every season.
