Located in northern Hiroshima Prefecture, Mt. Hiba is a legendary mountain recorded in Japan's oldest history book, "Kojiki," as the burial place of the goddess Izanami-no-Mikoto, who created Japan. Near the summit, a pure forest of beech trees, a national natural monument, spreads out, and a mysterious atmosphere drifts about. The nature of the four seasons is beautiful, and especially in autumn, the entire mountain is enveloped in burning colors of red leaves. It also has a unique history that once caused a stir throughout Japan with sightings of the unidentified creature "Hibagon." It is a perfect power spot for those who want to enjoy trekking in silence while simultaneously feeling the romance of history and the energy of great nature.
