Bodai-ji, located at the foot of Mt. Nagi, is an ancient temple where Honen Shonin, the founder of the Jodo sect, is said to have trained. The greatest highlight is the "Giant Ginkgo," a National Natural Monument boasting an age of about 900 years. The huge tree, reaching about 40 meters in height, radiates overwhelming vitality, and its golden brilliance in autumn is of divine beauty. Walking through the grounds enveloped in silence, you can etch into your heart the deep spirituality of Japan and the greatness of nature that has watched over many years.
