"Yamatokoriyama Castle Ruins" is a grand castle site telling the history from the Sengoku to the Edo periods. The highlight is the magnificent stone walls showcasing the high technology of the time; rare remnants like the "Upside-down Jizo," where Buddhist statues and tombstones were repurposed as stones, can be seen. Today, the restored Ote-mon gate and corner towers recreate the former dignity, fascinating history fans. Selected as one of "Japan's Top 100 Cherry Blossom Spots," the cherries blooming in spring to cover the stone walls add even more glamour to the castle landscape. It is an ideal spot for quiet strolls where historical weight and seasonal beauty resonate.
