"Dorogawa Onsen" in Tenkawa Village is a nostalgic hot spring town located at an altitude of about 800 meters. It has long flourished as the gateway to Mt. Omine, a sacred site for Shugendo, and wooden inns with lanterns lit on their verandas still line the streets. Even in summer, it remains cool, and a unique culture grown with mountain worship lives on, such as the clear famous "Gorogoro Water" and the local specialty "Daranisuke" (traditional medicine). The lantern lights at night are mystical, and strolling in a yukata while the sound of geta sandals echoes is a luxurious time to enjoy the good old Japanese mountain village atmosphere with all five senses.
