"Muro-ji Temple" in Uda City is an ancient Tendai sect temple nestled in silence surrounded by deep forests. Unlike Mt. Koya, which once prohibited women, it has long been known affectionately as "Nyoin Koya" (Women's Koya) for permitting women's worship. Delicate and graceful wooden buildings, such as the National Treasure Main Hall and Japan's smallest outdoor five-storied pagoda, stand in perfect harmony with the surrounding rich nature. Especially during the seasons of spring rhododendrons and autumn foliage, the precincts are beautiful like a painting. While being a place for strict training, its atmosphere somehow feels gentle, capturing the hearts of travelers wishing to quietly touch deep Japanese faith and aesthetics.
