Located at the southernmost tip of Nara Prefecture, Totsukawa Village is the largest village by area in Japan and a "hidden region" where untouched nature still remains. Approximately 96% of the village is covered in forests, with overwhelming scenery woven by steep mountains, deep canyons, and emerald green clear streams. Nature and faith live on here, with abundant "free-flowing hot spring" water and a part of the historic "Kumano Kodo" pilgrimage route passing through. The spectacular view from the massive "Tanise Suspension Bridge" and the silence of the "Hatenashi Settlement" offer an ultimate retreat, letting adventurous travelers wishing to touch deep Japanese mountain culture forget their daily lives.
