A special spring event open for only one week in April at the Japan Mint. Approximately 140 varieties of rare cherry blossoms, such as double-flowered "Yaezakura," bloom in a dense tunnel. Since they peak after the common Somei Yoshino varieties, it's popular for those wanting a late-season cherry blossom viewing. The overwhelming visual experience and the sentimental atmosphere of Japanese spring make it well worth visiting, even with the large crowds from all over the world.
