Affectionately called "Tenjin-san of Temma," this shrine enshrouds Sugawara no Michizane, the god of learning. It’s the stage for the Tenjin Matsuri, one of Japan's top three festivals, filling the city with heat in summer. The vermilion main hall and beautiful gate offer a dignified atmosphere in the city center. Many visit to pray for academic success. With the "Tenjinbashisuji Shopping Street" (the longest in Japan) nearby, you can enjoy both spiritual prayer and local Osaka life and food at once.
