Located in Yagi-cho, Nantan City, "Yagi Castle Ruins" is the site of a medieval mountain castle that was once the residence of the Naito clan, deputies of Tanba Province. Today, remains such as stone walls and dry moats still tell the history of castle architecture. From the summit at approximately 330 meters, you can enjoy a magnificent panoramic view from the Kameoka Basin to the streets of Nantan. It is popular as a hiking course, and the sense of accomplishment upon reaching the top, combined with the Japanese rural landscape below, is exceptional. It is a perfect place for authentic travelers who want to have a private view of Kyoto's nature while feeling the historical romance of the Sengoku period.
