Spreading along the embankment of the Miya River that flows through Ise City, "Miyagawa Tsutsumi" is one of Mie Prefecture's leading cherry blossom spots, selected as one of Japan's Top 100 Cherry Blossom Spots. The rows of Somei-Yoshino trees stretching for about one kilometer create a pink tunnel in spring, overwhelming visitors. Praised as "Hitome Senbon" (a thousand trees at a glance) since the Edo period, it has a history of entertaining pilgrims to Ise Jingu. It is a place of relaxation loved by locals where you can enjoy picnics on the wide riverbed or gaze at the mystical night cherry blossoms illuminated after dark, fully savoring a classic Japanese spring tradition.
