Known as the gateway to Mt. Fuji, Otsuki flourished as a transportation hub. It features the "Saruhashi," one of Japan's three unique bridges, offering scenery like a Ukiyo-e print with its architectural beauty and canyon views. The views of Mt. Fuji from the city are so perfectly balanced they were once used on Japanese banknotes. Only 1 hour from Tokyo by limited express, it is an excellent hiking spot to encounter Japan’s original landscapes away from the city's bustle.
