Formed by the eruption of Mt. Bandai in 1888, this is the largest lake in the Urabandai area. Its landscape, dotted with beautiful islands, is praised as the "Matsushima of the Tohoku region." In summer, it is an outdoor paradise for canoeing, bass fishing, and camping, while in winter, visitors can enjoy smelt fishing on the thick, frozen lake surface.
