This historic building, once the residence of the 14th head of the Uesugi family, stands on the former site of the castle's second enclosure. The luxurious mansion made entirely of Japanese cypress and the beautiful stroll garden with a central pond, modeled after Tokyo's Hama-rikyu Gardens, invite visitors into the elegant aristocratic culture of the Meiji and Taisho eras. Currently used as a facility for local cuisine, it is a luxurious space where you can enjoy refined delicacies unique to a castle town, such as top-grade Yonezawa beef and the renowned Tsuyahime rice, while gazing at the garden's seasonal beauty.
