This shrine is dedicated to Uesugi Kenshin, the strongest warlord of the Sengoku period who prioritized righteousness. Built on the former site of the main keep of Yonezawa Castle, it is visited by many as a power spot for victory and good fortune. The battle flags of Bi and Ryu fluttering along the approach symbolize the samurai spirit, enveloping visitors in a solemn atmosphere. The Keishoden treasure house exhibits swords and armor designated as Important Cultural Properties, making it the soul of Yonezawa tourism where you can feel the history of real samurai up close.
