Former Uesugi Earl’s Residence

This historic building, once the residence of the 14th head of the Uesugi family, stands on the former site of the castle's second enclosure. Uesugi Jinja Shrine

This shrine is dedicated to Uesugi Kenshin, the strongest warlord of the Sengoku period who prioritized righteousness. Built on the former site of the main keep of Yonezawa Castle, it is visited by many as a power spot for victory and good fortune.
