Kottaro Wetland, within Kushiro Wetland National Park, is one of the most pristine and untouched sections of Japan's largest marshland. The observation deck reveals an endless panorama of marshland and meandering rivers stretching to the horizon, and visitors may spot red-crowned cranes (tancho), Ezo deer, and red foxes in the wild. With scenery virtually untouched by human hands, Kottaro offers some of the clearest, quietest views in the entire Kushiro Wetland — an iconic vista of eastern Hokkaido's grand nature.
