Nagashiri F\u016bketsu (Wind Cave) is located at the foot of Mt. Kunimi ($454text{m}$), releasing cold air at $0text{ to }5^circtext{C}$ even in midsummer. Consequently, at the surrounding elevations of $170text{ to }240text{m}$, plants typically found in subalpine zones around $1,000text{m}$ above sea level, such as Rosa davurica (\u014ctakanebara) and cranberries (Koke momo), grow in clusters.Because cold air blows out from this wind cave area at the foot of the mountain, F\u016bketsu warehouses were constructed on parts of the slope from the end of the Meiji era to the Taisho era and were used as natural refrigerators.
